Construction consists of poplar hardwood solid and cherry veneer with a distressed multi-step, warm oak finish and has a clear coat finish helping to guard against wear and tear stemming from normal use. The homestead student desk has two easy glide drawers. Only assembly required is attaching the legs. The homestead student desk hutch features two drawers open storage areas and wire management opening. Comes fully assembled. Student desk measures 42-inch width by 24-inch depth by 30-inch height, student desk hutch measures 41-1/2-inch width by 9-1/2-inch depth by 8-3/4-inch height and overall measures 42-inch width by 24-inch depth by 38-3/4-inch height.

The desk looks very nice and it was easy to assemble. It came in two boxes: one containing the desk, and one containing the hutch. The only assembly needed was to screw the legs to the tabletop. The wide drawers are pretty shallow, so don't plan on putting a lot of things in them. The small drawers have no safety stop, so you have to be careful about not pulling them all the way out. Still, the desk is very nice and I'm happy with my purchase.
