The only way one person can assemble this, is they have eight long arms like an octopus. the buffet has a lot of parts that have to be held while another person attaches hardware to hold parts. It is time consuming to put together with two people. to assemble Buffet and hutch it will take minimum six hours to complete. read instructions very carefully. be sure and have a rubber mallet or small hammer handy, some pins are misaligned slightly. an electric drill with a torque setting will save a little time inserting machine screws. I used my island in kitchen as work bench and this put it a comfortable height to work on. Buffet is fairly heavy so assemble as close as possible to where you will place it.Most of the consumer Reviews tell that the "Home Styles 5020-617 Monarch Buffet and Hutch" are high quality item.
