It is designed for freestanding applications. It is designed to be a versatile unit which can be placed in almost any environment. With up to 107 bottle capacity and adjustable shelves to accommodate every collection, the Allavino CWR270-1BS is the perfect addition to any space. It features a digital control panel which allows you to set storage between 41F and 64F. The temperature range can be set low enough for storage of white wine at serving temperature and high enough for long term storage of red wine, depending on the needs of your specific collection. Lighted display allows you to monitor your temperature at without having to open the door. The temperature display can be switched between Celsius and Fahrenheit by simply pressing and holding the 'test' button for 10 seconds, or until you hear a beep. All 8 shelves glide smoothly on rollers which allows easy access to your entire collection. As others have noted, it holds less than the claimed quantity of bottles (which I expected to be the case), but it operates very quietly, maintains the set temperature, and holds about 7 cases of wine. I have no complaints about this unit!
